At Koda, we are committed to creating a sustainable environment every single day, not just on Earth Day. That's why we've partnered with the EPA and Energy Star in their goal to save $1.5 billion dollars in annual energy bills and prevent 17 billion pounds of annual greenhouse gas emissions this year. We want to help not only spread awareness that you can use lighting to create a better and more sustainable tomorrow, but also help you make the switch to LED, Energy Star certified lighting.
We are proud to say we have saved an estimated 135,888,237 watts of energy since we started in 2019, by helping consumers make the switch from traditional incandescent light bulbs to LED. Did you know Energy Star approved LED light bulbs and LED light fixtures use up to 80% less power than traditional incandescent bulbs and they also last much longer? For example, A 60-watt incandescent light bulb lasts around 1,000 hours, and costs around $4.80 per year to run, in comparison to a 12-watt LED light bulb, which lasts about 25,000 hours and will cost about $1.00 per year to run. These numbers are based on using the bulb around two hours per day.
As you can see using energy Star certified lighting products goes a long way in helping our environment by using less energy, but at the same time can save you a lot of money. In fact, Koda products have saved consumers an estimated $710,016,038 when they switched to LED fixtures from their incandescent bulbs. Now that’s putting cash back in your wallet!
As Koda and Energy Star continue to partner together to make a brighter future for all of us, there’s still a lot of work to be done. We will continue to push the levels of innovation on our products to deliver even more energy efficient solutions and continue partnering with Energy Star and the EPA to raise awareness.
As a reminder, you hold the greatest power in creating this transformational change our world needs in using more energy-efficient products. Buying products that are energy Star certified is just the beginning of what can be done, but is a small step that everyone can take. Don’t underestimate your power to create change. As you take one small step alongside millions of others, we create a positive movement that is impactful and tangible in our world.
